Swallowtail

I saw this swallowtail in the grass this morning and snuck a quick shot. I didn't notice all of the dew drops on the grass until I uploaded the picture.

Little Spots Everywhere

We saw this pair at Powder Valley while visiting with my sister.
It so friendly. When it first saw us it started to run to us. Then stopped.
It got within a foot of my sister. She took these two pictures.

There are baby deer everywhere.
What will I take pictures of when the babies grow up?
This one is my favorite. My oldest son spotted these spots at the state park.
We first only saw the mom.
These are pictures of the twins in our own backyard.
A few days ago we got to watch them all day long.
At sunset they dissapeared into the woods.
This was looking out the kitchen window.

The next two I was able to get of them standing on the deck about 10 feet away.

Another group over by the dam. I told you they are everywhere.

Down at the Boardwalk

Baby red winged black bird
Male
It's Mom who just brought it food.

Phoebe Fledglings

The babies outgrow the nest very quickly.
No wonder they fledge only 14 or so days after hatching.

The last day to see the baby's.
They were all in the nest but flew off as the kids played on the toys.
Mom and Dad were close by guiding them and keeping a close eye.
I looked over the fence over at the pool by the park and saw this little one flapping around in it.

It was breathing fine. Just really wet. I put it back in it's nest and we left. I hope it did okay.
It's been fun watching them grow up.

Moth

Moth's are not that exciting,
but I thought this moth was beautiful and had to share.
My youngest son thought these huge black spots were it's eyes.
When I first saw it all closed up it was just a boring brown moth.

Baby Phoebe's

Protective Mommy staying very close by.
These were so hard to shoot because of the bad angle.
I had to whistle at them to get them to sit up.
as you can see... I could not go any higher because the steps above were in the way.

Daddy

More babies... there are baby's everywhere right now. It is so fun to see.
This was a fun picture taking surprise. I fully expected to be going to take pictures of the mother to find out who she was and her eggs. But to my surprise the eggs had hatched within the past few days. I was able to get pictures of both the mom and dad.

Red Headed Woodpecker

This one is so cool to look at. I wish it would visit a little more often.
This is the first picture I have been able to get of the Red Headed since I have lived here.
(@ least clear enough to see)

Fawns

These little babies were such a treat to see out our back window.
Especially in our own back yard!

Feeding it's Young

It is so sweet to see the parents feed their young.
The colors are so vivid here because it had been raining all morning.
The colors are always different on birds after the rain.
Especially when they are dry. This WP was so bright and shiny.

Our Turtle Friend

This was our first turtle we found in our yard this Summer.
Cleaning inside, I looked out the window right at it. We kept it for a few hours and gave it a cranberry and raspberry. It prefered the cranberry.
It's fun to have a pet for a day that we don't really have to take care of.

Blue Bird

Aren't bluebirds just sweet? I love them. They are beautiful, and innocent looking and cute. I wish I could hold one. Wait, I guess did, for a moment. A confused little guy sat in the middle of the road and I got out picked it up, turned around and walked a few steps and then he flew off.

Flycatcher?

So I have had a few I have never seen. I saw this one frantically going from one low branch to another, slowly making his way closer to me. I am not sure what it is but it was fun to watch.
